Prayer Chain Ministry
The prayer chain comprises around 75 members who are strong believers in the power of prayer. Anyone in need of prayers; whether it is to celebrate a joy, or for support, or comfort, or for healing, can request prayers. The Prayer Warriors are notified of a prayer request from the coordinator as a BCC. Email addresses of the Warriors are not given out nor is any information the person in need wants kept confidential. The coordinator checks daily for any requests and issues the needs as soon as possible. To request a prayer or to become a Warrior, please contact: Swiftmumcprayerchain at gmail.com
Weekly Prayer Meeting
The Church Prayer Meeting is held every Monday night at the church starting at 7:00 pm and goes to around 8:30. All are invited to participate in this key ministry of Swift Memorial dedicated to beseeching God on behalf of those in need at home in the church, our community, our country and around the world. Moments of Scriptural reading and musical worship occur from time to time and personal prayer concerns are attended to immediately as they arise among those in attendance. We have found that it is important to center in on the presence of God in our midst and be sensitive to what He is putting on our hearts to pray about. Prayer begins with any needs that are mentioned by the congregation or our family and friends. Next we focus on the needs of the leadership, ministries and well-being of Swift Memorial that need specific attention. Finally we look to the needs of our community, country and around the world that we are aware of.
We are motivated to pray from our desire to see God act in our midst. We want to unleash His grace into our world so that His Kingdom will come into the lives for whom we pray. We pray so that He would bring spiritual, physical and emotional healing to those who are in need of God’s divine intervention. We pray so that others will receive God’s peace and well-being and live in His presence and by His grace draw closer to Him. The key verse that has inspired us along the way is 2 Chronicles 7:14 “If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land.”
